Boletus edulis
After the truffle, the Cep (Penny Bun, King Bolete) is perhaps the most prized of edible wild mushrooms. It is fairly common in deciduous woodland in late summer and autumn in both North America and Europe; this specimen was photographed in the New Forest in Hampshire, UK.
